The Paul Bunyan Riders became incorporated in February of 1977. The club had been in existence much earlier and was basically run by the local businesses in the early years. We have approximately 170 members and are 100% A.W.S.C. members, (Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs).
We groom 73 miles of funded trails and approximately 25 miles of un funded trails. We run a two Terra Tucker 2000 a 2006 ultimate drag and a 1996, 5250 Case tractor. The case tractor has a flail that is also used for brushing.
We hold monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of the month from Sept to March at local businesses that support the club. We hold an annual Christmas get together as well as a fall meeting on a Saturday so out of town people can attend.
We hold a "Snow Fun" Week-end on the weekend before Super Bowl. On Sat we will be hosting a softball tournament in the snow at the Lakewood Pavilion. Games to start around 10:00 am. Raffles, hot food and fun with the proceeds from this going to local community needs. Sunday is our major fund raising event to be held at the Firelite Lounge in downtown Lakewood starting at 12:00 noon. We hold a large & small raffle to be drawn at 5:00 pm, many more raffles during the afternoon. This is our major fund raiser for the year.
Each fall in October, we also held a Landowners and membership thank you. If you were a member or joined that day you ate and enjoyed refreshments for free. We also send out gift certificates to all our landowners whose property we travel on. These can be redeemed at any one of our local businesses that support the club.
We hope you will consider joining the club. Without the many volunteers who maintain our trail systems there would be no trails. Check out 4upnorth.com for more local updates on weather and joining our club. Remember to ride responsibly and have a safe season.
